Paper on Corporate Prediction Markets

Although it's now a few years old, I only recently read this fine paper about how to build useful corporate prediction markets: Martin Spann & Bernd Skiera, Internet-Based Virtual Stock Markets for Business Forecasting, 49 Management Science 1310 (2003). It offers a very accessible and comprehensive discussion of why and how on-line prediction markets can help businesses predict short-to-medium-term events. You'll find the paper well worth reading even if you skip over the few mathematical bits of the text.
