The Definition of Hyperbole

For CNN's report on the Murkowski story yesterday, the anchor's pre-commercial teaser was, "Another politician loses in the primary. Are incumbents an endangered species?"

Hah! And again I say, hah! If I squash a couple of cockroaches today, will CNN ask if cockroaches are an endangered species?
