Dollar coins should be around the same size as a quarter (otherwise too heavy) except they should be a different color and vending machines need to accept them...then maybe it could work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3829599.post-44002022259877100572008-08-20T15:25:00.000-07:002008-08-20T15:25:00.000-07:00I have a GREAT idea. Melt them down and make a one dollar coin.

1. This would show our country that our government can recycle.
2. No matter what the size the coin is, it will be easily identified when you pull the coin out of your pocket change.
3. The penny is a waste of time. I know you have throw out a penny or two.
4. Keep lincoln alive by putting his image on the new $1 coin. (of course the coin size would need to be changed enough so you don't mix them up)
5. The old cartwheels that were popular in Nevada were too big, but a dollar coin fairly close in size to the current 50 cent piece (which should be abolished) would work.
2. No more paper dollars are printed. The smallest denomination of paper currency should be $5. If the ruling that paper money must be distinguishable to the blind stands, a distinctive $1 coin, and $5, $20, and $100 bills graduated in size would be the way to go. $2 and $10 bills are not really necessary.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3829599.post-70850574873659956082008-08-03T09:52:00.000-07:002008-08-03T09:52:00.000-07:00laundry mats dont take dollar coins, I belive the ...laundry mats dont take dollar coins, I belive the success that the quarter has is due to the conveniences it enjoys, arcades, laundry, bus/metro etc...

I will say that if a laundry machine would take dollar coins people woud opt for them any day, instead of needing 4 coins for 1 wash, 1 coin 1 washEChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02778925784662703741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3829599.post-64689773446207771752008-08-02T05:18:00.000-07:002008-08-02T05:18:00.000-07:00I remember reading somewhere (honest!) that stripp...I remember reading somewhere (honest!) that strippers were moving to two=dollar bills.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3829599.post-90529309154033190612008-07-22T20:43:00.000-07:002008-07-22T20:43:00.000-07:00Question: If gold is at $1,000 per troy oz., how m...Question: If gold is at $1,000 per troy oz., how much gold would be need to make a gold penny? Due to the characteristics of the element Ag, couldn't this be pounded out into a coin with the image of Lincoln. I've seen those machines located at tourist attractions that turn a penny into a souvenir.
